A gentle, comfort-focused massage adapted for expectant clients. Private appointment-only sessions with Jody Davies at Formula Fitness, Knottingley. Discuss your circumstances before booking.

The treatment

Adapted for your body during pregnancy

Pregnancy massage is adapted to work around the changing needs of the body during pregnancy. Rather than the deeper pressure used in sports or deep tissue massage, sessions use gentler techniques focused on areas that commonly carry tension — lower back, hips, shoulders and legs.

Every session starts with a conversation about how you're feeling, what you'd like to focus on and where you are in your pregnancy. The treatment is then shaped around that, with positioning adapted for your comfort throughout.

Who this is for

For expectant clients at any stage

Pregnancy massage is for anyone who wants gentle, hands-on support during pregnancy. You don't need a specific reason — general comfort and relaxation are perfectly good reasons to book.

Lower back and hip discomfort

The lower back and hips are among the most commonly affected areas during pregnancy. Gentle massage focused on these areas may help ease the feeling of tightness and discomfort as your body adjusts.

Shoulder and neck tension

Postural changes during pregnancy can build tension in the upper body. Gentle work on the shoulders, neck and upper back may help ease some of that load.

Leg heaviness and swelling

Leg massage can support general comfort and circulation during pregnancy. Please discuss your specific circumstances with Jody before booking, particularly if you have any concerns.

General comfort and relaxation

You don't need to be experiencing a specific issue to benefit from a gentle massage. Many expectant clients book simply to take time for themselves and support their general sense of wellbeing.

Before you book

Have a conversation first

Please get in touch before booking to discuss your individual circumstances. Jody will talk through what the session involves, any relevant considerations based on your pregnancy, and help you decide if it's right for you. It's also worth letting your midwife or GP know your plans.
